Cobweb (Nepali: कबवेब) stylized as COBWEB, is a Nepalese rock and reggae music band that was formed in 1993 by school friends in Patan, Nepal.Cobweb is best known for blending rock and reggae musics with modern western-influenced music. The band that was established by Nilesh Joshi, Dibesh Mulmi, Urdeep Joshi, Mahesh Nakarmi, and Pawan Shakya invited one more member, Siddhartha Dhakwa, in 1998 and produced hit rock albums like Cobweb, Rolling Strings, Mercedes Benz, Rock n’ Roll and Swing. Amongst them, it was Mercedes Benz that brought up Cobweb as a promising rock band in Nepal.

Bipul Chettri

Musical career

Bipul's voice and musical abilities were introduced to the world with his song "Wildfire (Dadelo)". It was recorded and uploaded on SoundCloud in February 2013 and soon became a sensation among Nepalese worldwide. This laid the foundation for his debut album Sketches of Darjeeling.

His debut album Sketches of Darjeeling was received by listeners with huge appreciation. He was the 'Top Selling Artist for 2014-15, and was in the Top Ten for 2015-16, on OKListen.Com, an indie retail music site in India. He won the 'Pop-Rock Album of the Year' for 'Sketches of Darjeeling', 'Best Pop-Rock Composition of the Year' & 'Best Male Pop Vocal Performance of the Year for his song "Syndicate" at the recently concluded Hero Hits FM 91.2 Awards.

A LTCL Diploma holder in classical guitar, Bipul has now ventured into the contemporary folk/folk rock genre. He is also the first and only Nepali language singer/songwriter to have been endorsed by Epiphone Guitars (Gibson India). His music's popularity is evident on social platforms like ‘SoundCloud’ and ‘YouTube’ and has received tremendous radio airplays across the world.

He has performed at sold-out concerts with 'The Travelling Band' in the U.S., India, U.K. Australia, Hong Kong, Dubai and Nepal while more performances are scheduled this year. He has recently released his follow-up album Maya.
